' Songs remain. They last. The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing stock, can bring down dynasties. A song can last long after the events and the people in it are dust and dreams and gone. That's the power of song'
The words by Neil Gaiman rang through her and made her smile. They always did. It took her mind off of her current troubles, at least for the moment. That is why this was her third reread of Anansi boys in the first place. She would normally not have time for such indulgence as reading even her kindle but fact was she had no luck in getting ahold of anyone at the Xavier mansion. At least at the moment. She was starting to wonder if she could or should just show up at Xavier's doorstep at this point. She suppose she'd have to consider it.
She had remembered going to the fae realm with her people before, finding out who she was. It was now a guarded secret among those in the other world. She liked it that way. After all this is the world she had grown up in. Guarded yes, or at least until she could make herself look normal to others. She missed having someone who could see her for what she was. A real to life fairy. She had no clue what happened to him, what his name was or anything. She only remembered having a connection to a....werewolf? At the very least a man that showed her the way to meet her real kin. to say that werewolves were real was silly except that she lived in a world where she realized she wasn't a mutant, but a fairy. If fairies existed, she supposed that could be too. She wondered why she couldn't remember his name, why she could remember someone but not the name, or even what he looked like.
She shook the thought off of herself and continued to read in hopes in might clear her mind, get her to talk about what she heard from the fae. She had already made sure at least three times all her DJing equipment was in her van, that she was set for her job tonight. She knew she was only trying to get her mind off of everything she knew. That a man...a mutant was going to kill the president and it would create a storm that would destroy not just this world...but worlds beyond. She sighed and continued her reread on her kindle fire as she tried to clear her mind to perhaps think of the best way to go about this. There was no good way to tell anyone that the fate of the world as it was now needed to be changed...that they were the only known hope of stopping the world from ending...but she was going to try. She had to.
