Charis smiled as she followed Dee inside, super excited to see her Bushy tail as for Charis a girl with a tail was a secret turn-on for her. "Sure I would love to get a drink with you, let's go, girl..." Charis followed her thinking about what her tail would look like and wondering what she would look like with one as well.
"This is gonna be a fun time huh? I can feel it in my bones" Charis said smiling looking around at the others who had arrived.

Logan took the compliment as offered and nodded. He did but he often didn’t wear anything other than jeans. They tended to get tore up quickly because well it was him and trouble tended follow him. It wasn’t anything that he couldn’t handle but still nicer things seemed to be destroyed.
“Thank you. A beer here or there doesn’t matter. I’m just thinking that there we can get out and see the city covered in snow. That’s all.”
He didn’t mind the snow. That wasn’t something shared with anyone. He liked the city covered in snow and around this time of year the lights made it better. He wasn’t sentimental just had things he liked to see.
“You ever ice skate? We can do that as well.”
Who would have thought Logan would know how to do something beyond killing, drinking, and more of the latter.
~*~
Aaron was about half wasted most of the day. He was morally and totally against Christmas and anything to do with the holiday. This was due in part to their junkie mother never getting them anything for Christmas and the fact they spent it in juvenile detention. He considered it a waste of time and money when you could save it and plan for what you were going to do when he left this city. He wasn’t going to leave this apartment tonight. He was going to drink himself unconscious.
~*~
Jeff sat there in silence as his ride made turns all the while actually getting them closer to where he had parked. He wasn’t as bush league as he thought he was and that meant future work for him. It was refreshing to find someone who understood discretion. He waited a moment and then checked his mirror and noticed that while the police had peeled away a few cars hadn’t given up.
“Is this van armored?”
It was truly an innocent question as he was about to test it. He looked at the guy and waited a moment longer. As he took his rifle from underneath his coat. This wasn’t anything a little 5.56mm wouldn’t solve in a hurry and if not then a little applied explosives.
“It should be as I did give you the name of a guy to outfit it for this job. Let’s hope you went there and didn’t spend that time getting baked.”
He laughed as he climbed out of the passengers seat into the back and made his way to the back door.

Angie smiled as they were of like mind. She didn't mind going out, especially if there was someone else who she enjoyed the company of. She also knew that they made a pretty good team as well. She kept her arm linked with his as she locked eyes with his.
"I think seeing the city would be nice. I would not mind a tour of sorts before I am needed back home. I have heard that it is rather beautiful this time of year. A favor I would gladly return if you ever come across the pond."
She blinked a few times about ice skating. Living in Sweden for some time, it was a fun activity in winter. She had done it once or twice with her father. Her smile dimmed a little at the thought. Her ballet lessons and music lessons overshadowed anything else.
"It has been many, many years since I have ice skated. It could be fun to try again. Let us make a night of it. Care to play tour guide?" -------
Dee hopped as the girl next to her wanted to get a drink. Her half baked plan was all coming together. Now if only she knew who to look out for. The squirrels were not always the best at conveying details. Once Jeff got here, she would know right away.
"This is going to be a blast!" She looked at the bartender, "Two beers, please!" Her smile widened even further as glass bottles where placed in her hands. She turned to Charis, "Where do you want to sit? It should be in view of the door or the bar." ------
Andrew looked at his brother in his sorry state. Yes the holidays were a bummer, yet there was good as well. This was the time of the year in which they made the most money. He crossed his arms over his chest as he debated on how best to get the boy moving. He grabbed the next bottle along with his brother's phone.
"Such a Grinch! Yes we never had a true holiday but just think we have made the most of it. Though I guess I will have to bring your surprise here instead of the bar. At least, put on some deodorant as you reek worse than that Todd kid did."
He turned away from his brother as he typed a quick message to Wanda. Her reply was to be expected as she was irritated yet agreeable. She would be here in about 15 minutes as she had just gotten off the bus. He really felt the girl needed to learn how to drive. At least she was closish by.

Relina was more than happy she could give something to someone who would appreciate them. She hadn’t really thought about it as they were something she had and no intention of displaying them. They deserved someone like Skye and they would be appreciated more than she had appreciated them.
“As someone who loves music,” she points to Skye and then takes her shot, “and is most definitely a bad ass on stage. They belonged with you. Merry Christmas.”
She hugged Skye back and then took another shot. She saw her date and held up a finger to him. She looked at Tavish and smiled.
“Cheers!”
She grabbed her third shot and clinked it off his glass and downed it. Now she needed to go and give her guy a kiss.
“I’ll be right back.”
She walked over and was thankful he was sitting. She leaned in and planted a kiss on him that would soon anyone’s head. She smiled quite pleased with herself.
“Part two after the show.”
She spun on her red heels and walked back over to the table.
“Alright! Let’s make some merry and some music!”
~*~
Aaron had half a mind to blast his brother. It would be anything lethal but enough to make him regret messing with him. A first degree burn would be sufficient to make him leave. The insult to Todd was foul play. That wasn’t very nice of him.
“You know I hate this holiday. The poke at Todd is not nice. He had potential as long as he listens to advice.”
A present? That was being brought here? What the hell was Andrew on about tonight?
“What the fuck are you talking about, a present? That’s bullshit because we steal what we need and sell it. What did you get anyways?”
He had ignored the part where he was told he smelled. He had showered this morning then went directly to drinking and being antisocial. That was his right. Andrew fucking with his phone got a response. The soft glow of energy could be seen under his blanket.
“Put my phone down or I’ll blast your sorry ass.”
~*~
Logan was agreeable to what she wanted to do, seeing the city was as good as anything else. He started leading her to the garage. He decided that a nice drive on the scenic route would be required before their ultimate destination.
“We will take the scenic route then, a visit to New York isn’t just diners, pizza joints, and bars. I remember when they were string the electrical lines in New York.”
That was something odd but he hoped she wouldn’t ask. He didn’t care if she did but having her believe it would also open more questions. His memory was odd but not so much that he could grasp certain aspects of his past.
“I don’t mind playing tour guide. It’ll be fun.”
They had gotten to the garage and contrary to popular belief Logan didn’t drive a beat up pickup. He had a nicer Chevy Blazer. It was older but looked new and he liked it.
“Where do you want to go first?”

Charis Smiled at Dee happy that she made not only hopefully a new friend but met a girl with a tail...a bushy one at that. She looked around to find a place suitable for her and Dee to sit. "What about over there, there's even a window nearby? You go first...I will Tail you...hehe get it...tail??" Charis smiled again at Dee as she happily let her beer buddy go first.

Gabriella never really liked the holidays...it only served to remind her of what she no longer had. Yes she had her brother but no parents...no lighted tree to wake up to Christmas morning. She had a few drawn presents for everyone but otherwise nothing special. She went the Ace of trades to be around people that might take away the sting of this season. She sat down and had some soda while she listened to the music. They called it Yule instead of Christmas...She liked this. She had to admit that. She smiled to Matt but saw he was busy.

Rouge heard of the special celebration at the Ace of trades and wanted to be there. She usually didn't dress up but tonight was special. She had on a dark green dress instead of her usual black. She made sure she had everything before she walked out the door. True things were difficult at the moment between her and Gambit...but she had to admit she loved him. She didn't know what the future would bring but at least she could be here at the celebration. She walked in and went to the bar and waved to those she knew. She knew she was part of the X-Men but lately it seemed with Lawrence and Gabriella being so close the lines weren't so drawn anymore, and they worked together when needed. Besides this was Haven , no matter where you were from. It lightened her heart that such a place existed. "Hey guys..." She greeted those inside and got her gift that she got for Gambit ready to give him. It was a pair of open ended tickets for a short vacation to Miami for the two of them, knowing he always said he wanted to get away to somewhere warm for a change. A week or so on the beach could do them both some good when they were able to go. She waited for Gambit to arrive

Andrew's eyes narrowed at his brother as his stance widen. He scoffed at the poke as he shook his head. His brother was so moody that he missed the meaning behind the words.
"Listen here, you horse's arse. I said that you smell worse than Todd did. As in past tense. The guy has an insanely hot girlfriend thanks to our efforts. I was insulting you. There is a difference."
He ignored the part about the holiday. He could care less about the day. It was more about seeing the bringing people closer. It was mostly why he celebrated it.
"Yes we steal and sell shit. I never said it was an object. Just wait and see. Not like I would tell you anyways. If only you actually decided to stick with my original plan though this could work as well."
He shrugged his shoulders with the threat. To Andrew, his brother brought this all upon himself. He was being an ass. He held the phone by his side as the screen lit up once again. He sent the message back to come on up, just knock and enter.
Wanda groaned when she read the messages. There had been something lately which caused Aaron to be rather hot and cold. Today seemed to be no exception. It just annoyed her as he changed his mind several different times of where they were meeting. It would have been easier if he just picked her up. City buses could take forever.
With what felt like a million city blocks and three buses later, she had finally made it. She sighed as her feet hurt from walking in knee high boots with a bit of a heel. She was starting to think that she should have just stayed home and surfed the net. She levitated slightly off the ground as she took in a deep breath. Some of the pressure was taken off her aching feet.
The latest text caused her to groan a little. She guessed he was probably getting in the shower or something which meant he was running late. It did not seem like Aaron though she could be very wrong at this point.
Part of her wanted to turn around and head home, then again part of her wanted to see what this evening held. She took in a deep breath as she stared at the door. She cleared her throat as she knocked and walked in. She was unsure what she was expecting, just not Aaron with a beer and a soft glow with Andrew walking out the door.
“Ah Wanda, sorry for the last minute change. Enjoy an evening to yourselves.” Andrew tossed the phone to his brother as he headed out the door. <You’re present. Make the most of it, go out and have fun or stay in. You know where the condoms are. Just take the plunge or someone else will steal her out from under you.> ~*~*~
A smile spread across Angie’s face as he lead her away from the room. She found her heart beating in her throat. She gave him a confused look as he mentioned something that sounded like it happened back in the 1920s, not something a decade or so ago.
“I think the scenic route sounds enjoyable. Just like a Sunday drive back in the day. Though I am confused by your comment with the electrical strings.”
She let the topic drop as it was his story to tell. They each had their secrets. She had never been one to pry into another’s life. She climbed into the passenger seat of the Blazer. She glanced at her date as she thought with his question.
“You make a fine tour guide. I was thinking we head to ice skating first, than maybe a bite to eat. I will let you fill in the other details.” ~*~*~
Dee glanced over to the area that Charis pointed to. It would be perfect as it was mostly covered in darkness and she could see when grumpy uncle came. She pulled her hat down a little further. She wanted to keep him from spotting her.
Her eyes grew wide as she bounced on the balls of her feet. This girl was awesome and someone after her own heart. Puns were her favorite past times, mainly nut puns. She grabbed the girl by her hand as she headed to the spot.
“Almond missed that one. Walnut to exchange a few more puns?” ~*~*~
Krys waved back at Rouge as she sighed with another sip of her drink. She sat back as the bar filled up even more. She was unsure if she wanted to engage too much. It still felt strange being around a bunch of people who have powers like her.
Gambit was running around. Fight nights and live band nights always seemed the busiest. Add in a party with drink specials and things got insane. He would not have any other way. It just seemed as if he didn’t have time for anything else. It was until he saw his favorite person in the world.
“Well look at what the cat dragged in. I didn’t think you would make it, though I am glad to see ya. What can I get the lovely lady?”

As he drove, he kept one eye constantly on the mirror. He was glad the police were gone, either he managed to ditch them, or they were actually called off. He didn't want any of them injured or killed in this, but that didn't mean EVERYONE had pulled away. (These guys all in the Family?)
His passenger asked if the van was armored or not, as he was pulling out his rifle. Ryuusei rolled his eyes at the question. "Yeah..." it wasn't for this job though, but because of a roided up retard, wrecked his last van. And he wanted to make sure THIS one didn't crumple like a kleenex box.

Skye beamed excitedly, grabbing her guitar before giving the light person the signal. Slowly the lights dimmed, leaving the crowed in darkness. Stepping up to the microphone, she began to sing a melody as haunting as the darkness...
“Jingle bells Jingle bells Jingle all the way I can't wait for christmas times! So I can roll you in the hay Easy come, easy go Have a good time with lots of dough Slippin' up high, slippin' down low Love'm and leave'm on with the show I like female form in minimum dress!”
With that, the lights turned on as smoke filled the stage. Skye looked to Relina next to her as she began her guitar solo
“Let’s give it up for Relina, everybody!!!” She yelled into the microphone “And we’re Haliwell! Merry Christmas, my Jolly Freaks!”
Tavish has been so focused on his guitar strumming that he barely noticed the gorgeous blonde at the corner of his eye. He stopped playing for one or two beats as his heart jumped. A blush appeared onto his cheeks as he got back into motion...
He needed to meet her.
———————
Matt looked to Gabs through the crowd and waved her over “Hey! I can talk between people coming in! C’mon over, pretty lady!” He smirked flirtatiously.
Hope continued to look at the clock as she finished her first drink “I’m calling it. I’m going to go dance...by myself.” She sighed heavily before setting her class onto the bar. “I should have known. He’s too busy. I’m a fool...”
Freddy blushed as red as Relina’s hair “Relina...” he whispered softly, gently stroking her cheek for the woman left for the stage. That was it. He loved her. He just needed to tell her. Hopefully he wouldn’t chicken out..

Charis smiled to Dee as they were trying to find a spot for her to do what she needed. As Dee grabbed her hand, Charis smiled happily loving the feeling of Dee's soft squirrely hand. Charis chuckled at the puns, "I would be nuts not to sweetie. I wanna help you, so let's get crackin' on this idea of yours" She had a girlfriend already...but who said she couldn't flirt?

Jeff wasn’t surprised when the cops left as quickly as they arrived. It was kind of what they did and the explosion several blocks away would have focused their attention there on the spot he wanted them to be at so they wouldn’t get caught in this. He respected the job they did but he wouldn’t have hesitated for a moment to shoot them as well. The answer the guy called out was good enough for him.
“Well let’s test it.”
He didn’t say much more as he opened the backdoor and as he did brought the rifle up and shot the windshield of the car following them. He was rewarded as it served off the road Into the side of a building and the brought another car speeding up. The best part was Jeff wasn’t even being mean as of yet.
“I think that got their attention. Let’s put some speed on. I’m late for a prior engagement.”
He was late but for a good reason. A reason he didn’t think he could tell Hope about as she may not believe him or just think him a maniac.
~*~
The guitar was tuned and as they began Relina kept up and found herself lost in the music. The crowd disappeared and it was her and the music. She only heard the beat of the drums and Skye singing. Once she heard the let’s give it up for Relina and we’re Haliwell she realized they had made it through the set. She smiled over at Skye and gave a little curtsy to the crowd. She had actually been trepidatious about this when she had been working on her designs but a little bit of talking and practicing with Skye’s band had sealed the decision. She was attending practice with them and becoming part of the band. It was a dream that she had wanted since she had seen the Hex Girls on Scooby Doo. She was living it. It was good she didn’t have to sing. Her voice would have driven away rodents.
~*~
The drive through the snow covered country was peaceful and quiet for the first awkward twenty minutes but after that he decided to expand upon the electrical string.
“The electric strings is when they first wired New York City for power. I remember it as a kid on one of the trips my parents took to the city. It is one of the few things I remember. That’s all.”
He shrugged as he turned onto another road that brought the full lights of the city into view as they created a hill. There was a little pull off on the side of the road and put the Blazer in Park.
“This is something the tourist don’t know about. It’s a view fee ever see or even know about. It gives you view that at night the city sparkles just below you. I usually come here alone just to sit.”
He let that hang in the air. He was sharing a private spot of his with someone he had come to like and that was a big thing for him.
~*~
Andrew was such an ass and a nosy one at that. How dare he pry into his personal affairs and relationships. He knew the answer to that but decided to let it go. That was until Wanda came through the door and he nearly followed through with his threat of blasting his brother but stopped himself.
“Wanda what pleasant surprise tonight. I was just wallowing in my self loathing and my brother in his infinite wisdom decided that he should invite you over to see it. I want to apologize for his nosiness and brashness.”
He was going to beat Andrew within an inch of his life. He had not even thought of doing anything tonight but those plans changed and now he was on the spot. He got up and as he did brought his blanket with and started to fold it. Wanda would have noticed from her previous visit that the apartment was always clean and in a state of order. This time was no different as there was a single glass on the coffee table and now the blanket was folded.
“Give me a moment to clean up and we can go get something eat at any place you want go.”
He smiled at her as he took the blanket out of the room with him and she would hear it being put in a closet and the door closed. The shower came on and within ten minutes Aaron reappeared dressed in a semi formal attire and with a pair of keys.
“There is this great place where they serve wine, discuss art, serve a million different cheeses, and they even play the music of the featured artists time period. You want to go?”
He had been saving that place for a while but since Wanda was here he would take her. This wasn’t a go to Ace’s and get wasted kind of night. He could still sense Andrew and decided to send a mental go fuck yourself to him.
~*~
As his driver performed better than he thought a stoner could have done he had eliminated several of their fans. He wasn’t holding back and the sporadic gun fire from their thinning fan club was a good sign. He checked the street as they raced over a cross street and was glad to see they were only half a block away from his car with only two chase vehicles.
“Alright let’s let you get on with your night.”
He pulled the door closed as more gunfire peppered the closed door and went up front. He got back into his seat and looked at Ryuusei.
“You’ve been great and I’ll get out here. Just slow down a bit and then after I jump drive like hell. I’ll handle the rest from here. I just hope you don’t lose my number. You’re a good driver. I’ll have more work for you. That is if your interested.”
He waited for a response and once he had it he would be out and away from the van to let Ryuusei return to his evening of watching slasher movies and getting stoned out of his gourd. He waited until he slowed down, 40 miles per hour was enough and jumped from the vehicle rolling to a stop. He was on his feet though and moving toward the parking structure. He noticed that the last two people had noticed giving Ryuusei the cushion he needed as they turned around. He was inside the structure and halfway up the ramp before they were there. Once he saw headlight he turned and opened fire into the front of the lead SUV effectively crippling it and causing the following one to crash into it. He would wait for them to get out. He dropped his magazine and reloaded taking his time. The eight got out and came up the ramp and stopped. Their leader spoke up.
“Give me my daughter back now jackass!”
Jeff looked at them and shook his head. He was going to enlighten them.
“The situation you’re in isn’t one you’d normally walk away from, I’m invested in leaving dead bodies here for some poor soul to find tomorrow when they come to get their car. I’ll give you a choice since it’s the holiday season.”
He could tell which one made a move to bring his gun up but in the blink of an eye he had three bullets in him from Jeff’s weapon. The whole thing was over which caused the others to consider their options. Their boss spoke up.
“I’m going to make you tell me where my child is, then go get her, kill that bitch ex-wife of mine, and then you. All you’ve done will be for nothing you fuck.”
Well he wasn’t eloquent or even mildly threatening and it was growing tiresome. He made his decision and Jeff was going to make sure he got to spend some time tonight without a gun in his hands. He was certain he could kill them all. He was going to test that.
~*~
The drive to Ace’s was spent listening to Christmas music. He had sanitized the scene and was glad he had chosen a neighborhood where the mafia and local gangs were fighting over the turf. It would be chalked up to just another power play by rival factions. It looked like there had been twice the people there than the mafia had brought, all in a nights work. He finally pulled in and out the car in park. He turned it off and went to the door. He wanted to groan but kept it in check as he saw Matt was checking IDs. It wasn’t a big deal. He would pay his cover and go inside. The line moved swiftly and he pulled out his ID.
“Evening.”

"Guessin you set off that fireworks display over there..." He didn't bat an eye at the pursuing car being shot at and then swerving into a building. He was more curious as to what the other vehicles would do; if they'd open fire...or speed up and try to surround the van. Not giving them the opportunity, he sped up when 'asked' to.
A little while later...
The man had taken care of most of the pursuers, but there was still a bit of gunfire...dinging...the back doors. The sound caused a green eye to look behind him...
They neared the drop off and he slowed down to 40; before the man...exited, he complimented Ryuusei's driving. "Oh I can do more than just drive, but that (usually) costs extra..."
After Jeff was gone, he continued to watch the remaining cars through the mirror and saw them enter the garage, before pulling away and onto a side street at the base.
Ryuusei sighed heavily and threw a pair of pants on and went outside. "You fuckers!"
There were only a few dents...but still!
He put on a shirt, as he was doing that he looked at his TV; no apparent damage, and the scene from the movie was still paused. That gave him an idea as he reached for a ski mask.
Ryuusei scaled the side of the garage. He stealthily maneuvered through the parked cars; as the Mob Enforcer was making his threats, Ryuusei quickly leapt out, threw his chain around the neck of one of the men and pulled him back behind the cars...

Dee grabbed the table as she sat down. She felt as if she had made a new friend in this girl. There were not many people who appreciated all the puns that she used. The beer was placed in front of her as she turned to the other. A grin kept on her face as nothing could be better right now than someone of similar mind set.
"Well thanks for the help! It may seem a little acorny, thought it will pay off well. I am curious as to the new lady friend of my "uncle". Well, he's not truly my uncle, just adopted me after my parents died. Anyways, I want to see if I can blend in so I can have a different role with missions. I think you just talking to me will be great! It will be a fun story to tell all my squirrel friends later." ~*~*~
Angie took her cue from his silence as the drive started. It would seem her question caused a response she was not prepared for. She stared out the window as her hands rested in her lap. Her index finger picked at the loose skin surrounding her thumb. A nervous habit that she developed as a child.
She glanced at him as he spoke about the past memory. It seemed that part of his abilities allowed him to age slower than normal. She let the subject drop as he pulled off the road. She leaned forward as her eyes took in the sight of the bright city. She let out a low whistle as it expanded most of the horizon.
"This is one of the many reasons I put you in charge of guiding the tour. A place for one's thoughts is important and I see why this would be it for you. I happy you shared it with me."
A soft smile formed as she leaned over the center console. A hand found one of his as she planted a soft kiss on his cheek. The roughness of his cheek felt like sandpaper against her soft lips. His rough edges were something which Angie found grounding. She sat back in her seat as her eyes flickered back to the view. ~*~*~
Andrew laughed back mentally to his brother. In fact, it was Aaron's own fault for not taking anything seriously when he tried to get him out of the house. He was on his way to Larissa's. It was a sacrifice that his brother would never know the true extent of.
For Wanda, everything suddenly made sense with the constant changing of plans. She gave a deep growl as she was played. She crossed her arms over her chest as she cracked her neck. She had been fine with just the rides home, though now she was in an awkward spot for all she wanted was to leave.
"Well don't let me stop you. It's not like I got dressed up or anything. You two are more trouble than you are worth together."
Her hand was placed on the doorknob as she just wanted to go home. His movement from the couch caused her glare to look over at him. She closed her eyes with a nod. What did she have to loose at this moment but more bus fare? She wrapped her arms around her middle as he left to clean up. She took a seat as she got off her aching feet. She rubbed her soles until he finally came back.
She slipped into her boots again as she stood up. At least, there would not be a lot of walking in her near future. She was rather surprised by his outfit. She cleared her throat, "Sounds like fun. Didn't realize that you had gotten into art. Here I thought it was mostly cars. Lead the way."

Charis sat next to her new friend Dee as their beers were brought over. She smiled at her friend but then frowned as Dee said her parents passed away, "Aww Dee I'm so sorry about your parent's sweetie. I bet they're looking down on you smiling at what a lovely daughter they created."
She gave her newest friend a grin back to show her that she cared and was going to help her in whatever she needed. Other then the other X-Men and a few others had anyone been this nice to Charis in a long time. This was just another thing that showed her that she belonged to a group of people and mutants that cared for each other.
"Hey that gives me an idea...now this might sound Nutz but I think you should come with me and stay at the Mansion....there's lots of trees for your squirrel friends, plus more people to be friends with...come on...PLEASE??" Charis didn't wanna get her new friend riled up too much so she calmed down and took a drink of her beer.
