Vance blinked as he heard the voice of the woman whom he spent many a hot night with, only to dump him in the end. It kinda burned him and his hope for having commitment. Still, there were other important things to think about.
"Stella, the truth is I don't like making enemies," Vance said. "It never ends well for either side. I was in a bad place those days after we split. I'm a 'together forever' kind of guy, and when you broke up with me, I was...pissed, to say the least. All those stories of guys not committing to their girls...it just seemed one after the other, so it just seemed like I was a tragic victim of a double-standard. But when I really thought about it...love is a two-way street, and both sides have to want it. You didn't...it's just that simple. At the end of the day, I had to let that shit go, for my overall health. So yeah, we can work together."
He then glanced at her. "You still look as good as we first met, by the way." He then sighed and looked ahead.

Charis had been looking around for any troublemakers when she heard someone calling out to her...It was Hope...She smiled back and went over to her.
She then smiled and waved at Jeff and the others, "It's good to see you guys here too...I am so proud to be able to help out and hopefully we can cause some changes for good for us. I am a bit nervous though Hope...I don't want anything bad to happen of course...but I can feel it in my bones. Earlier this week I read up on the history of mutants and humans and it scares me. I feel safe around you and everyone though..."

The day that was talked about and looked forward to had come. It was the election of someone who had humans best interests at heart and with their support they had the man who would allow them to make the changes that would be needed to protect their rights and advance their agenda. It had been a long fight. It was never easy when your cause was to protect the very people’s interests and rights that would oppose you. That mattered very little when the work done had lead to today. Graydon Creed was proud of his work and despite these mutants and their rallies for equal rights and other things they said were basic human rights. That right there was invalid as an argument as they weren’t human. They were mutants and so far from human that their arguments didn’t hold weight with him. He nearly laughed in their faces during hearings in Congress. It didn’t matter now that they had someone in power who wasn’t afraid of offending anyone. It was the beginning of a very good era of humans and humanity. The only dark spot on the day was the march that mutants had organized to oppose the incoming president. It was the rabble that always opposed great men. That rabble would be dealt with in due time as today was a day of celebration and rejoicing the changes that would come to his country. He stopped as he heard his men and women mention the number of marching mutants and with a quick word he silenced them. They would perpetrate violence today unless it was in defense of themselves. That order had been handed out throughout their ranks on down to the lowest member of Friends of Humanity. He didn’t want them responsible for any violence today and the people who answered to him ensured that the violent people who couldn’t contain themselves stayed home. His aid came over to him.
“Mr. Trump will see you shortly sir. He said he has a place for you after the ceremony.”
Graydon nodded to her and sat in his seat. He want to show his revulsion at the woman seated in the stands near where the new president would be inaugurated but as someone who could maintain his composure and cool. It wouldn’t be until later that they would regret their dirty genes. His people were among those in attendance and he hoped there wouldn’t be any trouble generated by them.

Stella half smiled to Vance, relieved that he finally had fame around. The weeks of arguing and harassment between the two had finally come to an end. Had she prolonged the relationship and lied to him, she wouldn’t be herself. Even if it meant hurting him further, she was honest.
Standing slightly closer and while looking forward, she put her hands on her hips. “You look great, too. Had I promised your pain, it would be even worse. I’m sorry for causing you anguish all this time. And I though I wanted love, at least I thought I felt it. Turns out, it was just lust. I’ve never been a one person gal, Vance, and unfortunately, the trial and error was evident with you.” She replied softly.
Looking to the man, her eyes sparkled under the cloudy sky. “Of course if you...ever get lonely. You know my address.” She winked playfully “While your on your search for the perfect woman.”

This march caused the inner turmoil for Dee as she was not sure were she stood in the great scheme of things. She wasn't a true mutant by any standards though she did have gifts and a large fluffy tail. It was one of those conversations which she never had with anyone. There was Jeff however he was occupied by Hope most of these days. She loved her grumpy uncle however there were some topics which she never talked with him about. It felt strange. She liked Hope and wanted her to stick around. It would be nice to get a woman's opinion on things. It was no surprise when Jeff got a job for one of the young mutants. She was in on the planning. It was nice that all was forgiven from the spying. She heard the word from Jeff to stake out a tall building. Climbing was one of her favorite things to do. She skated along the back of the crowd as she heard all the shouting. Tippy kept an eye on the girl as she dodged people. She found a tall enough building as her sharp nails dug into the brick. Her tail gave a few flicks as her arms and legs made their way up. Her breath came out in heavy pants as she walked over to the edge of the building. She cracked her neck as she sat on the ledge. She looked down at the mass of people, pushed aside all the inner confusion as she had a job to do.
"In position. Tell Hope I said Hey and we should hang sometime." ~*~*~
Maera's chanting was stopped as the voice of her sister stopped her. She smiled at Jeff with a hello nod. She was still leery of that man. Something was off putting which made her shiver. Her shoulders shrugged about hanging with Lawrence. She hadn't really thought about it too much. She usually had a lot of fun when they got to spend time together. It was not all that much as diving season was in full swing for her.
"Have you seen him? I haven't looked as I got swept up in the fever of it all." She stood on her tip toes as it might be fun to share all of this with someone as well.
~*~*~
Pheonix heard the reports from some of her team members. It seemed as if this was going to be peaceful for right now. Her mind touched another's as her worst fear had been realized. Friends of Humanity were here to cause trouble. She floated a little lower to the ground. Her mind stretched further as she touched the surface of all the minds. Emotions were running high.
["Keep your eyes peels. Friends of Humanity are here which means trouble for all of us."]

Vance smirked as Stella spoke. "Perhaps I'll keep that in mind," he said. "We did have one hot moment together, didn't we? Especially when I started using my constructs..."
He was, of course, referring to when he started making vibrators, dildos, and other such sex toys in many shapes, sizes, and forms in his constructs while they were intimate.
As Vance kept looking around, his eyes spied something very different. A girl that appeared to have a very bushy tail, scaling a building as if it was a daily task. "What the bacon...?" he exclaimed, making a telescope to get a better look as she stood on the building. She looked pretty cute as well, and the tail only made her cuter.
Vance was forced to not focus on the cute squirrel girl when he mentally heard that the FoH were spotted and were up to no good. {I wish they would try to cause trouble.} Vance thought back. {I owe them years of payback for what they did to my folks!}

Rhona was looking over all the donuts and smiling to herself. She didn’t know how many she wanted but she knew several dozen to start with as she was feeling the beginnings of the gnawing hunger. She started picking and after the first dozen the woman at the counter nodded and filled the second box. When Rhona ordered a third dozen the woman’s eyes widened.
“Honey don’t you have anyone to help carry them?”
Rhona shook her head and waited for her to finish filling the third box she smiled.
“I like donuts and I’ll easily eat a dozen by myself.”
She smiled as the woman finished filling the third box. The woman smiled back as Rhona asked for another dozen.
“Another sweetie?!? Are you going to eat all these?”
Rhona shook her head again. She may eat two dozen by herself and feel good for about two hours but the others would be for her friends.
“No, I will share at least two dozen with my friends. Two are going to be eaten by me. I need a snack. These will help.”
The woman laughed as she filled the fourth box. Once she finished boxing them up Rhona smiled eyes all bright as she realized she wanted coffee.
“What is the biggest thing of coffee you sale?”
The woman held up a large cup and Rhona nodded. She loved coffee. It was a delicious bitter liquid that she found she wanted almost every day.
“Yes please! Two!”
The woman poured two cups and Rhona paid her for the entire order and dropped the remaining few dollars in her tip jar. She left carrying her donuts and the coffee in a carrier.

Jeff happily accepted the hug and chuckled at her maybe so response. It was nice that she didn’t swat him for slipping up on her. He smiled again as she called over her friend. At the mention of Lawrence he shrugged. He didn’t hang out with a guy named Lawrence. He didn’t really think it important though at this moment.
“I’m here because some ultra-concerned young woman wishes to show her support and her parents have the dough to hire me to watch her. So it was that or have her become a statistic that people who are against gifted tout as a senseless that could have been prevented if stiffer laws were in place. She is actually as far away from the main throng as possible surrounded by people to keep her safe.”
He listened to the radio chatter of his team for a moment before scanning the crowd.
“Dee says hello.”
He passed the message along to Hope.
“Roger Tails focus on the southern quadrant. Near the inauguration area. I saw some wastes of flesh over there grouped up. Not your normal red hat wearing oxygen thieves. The special kind that don’t take kindly to people with gifts.”
He turned his attention back to Hope but caught Matt out of the corner of his eye. That didn’t bode well. It meant that idiots were unattended and they may need put down.
“It appears I’m now a messaging service. Dee says you ladies should hang out soon.”
He laughed as it was nice Dee had a friend besides all the people they normally associated with.

Aaron was weaving his way through the crowded DC streets. It was where he wanted to be and hopefully prevent a tragedy from transpiring at the same time. He wasn’t comfortable with what he had overheard and now he wasn’t sure why he was trying to stop the end of someone’s life. He wasn’t against doing what you thought was the right path but this would, in his opinion, undo everything that advocates for mutant rights had been working for all this time.
“Of course I have to choose today to grow a conscience. Well hell might as well donate to charities next.”
He took a sharp turn and came to a stop. Dammit! Traffic was not in his favor.
~*~
Logan was watching everything as he moved among the kids who were marching. He had seen this before and they usually didn’t turn out well. Suffragettes, Christ that was a dark time. People who just wanted rights. It seemed to him this country had a way of repeating its mistakes. He shook his head. When he heard Jean say something about FoH he shook his head. Those people were a blight upon earth and didn’t have anything good to say or do. They just held onto what he considered the worst of humanity and now with this stooge in charge it should be a whole lot better.
“Gotcha Jeanie...”
He walked by and gave a small nod to Jeff. That guy was interesting and he had heard the rumors about him. He didn’t know if they held any validity because he hadn’t bothered to check them. He knew that Hope liked him and that is what mattered.

Skylar stood there in the shaded area, lurking behind the White House with the selected few for they mission. She knew her job and she could do it; the apprehension, however, was high. She hated the president, but killing him seemed to only exaggerate the issue. Assassinations never ended well and would cause a riot full of anger and hate. Were they endangering themselves even more now? She wouldn’t dare question Magneto again. That had about costed her life.
Closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath of the chilled winter air, she felt her black wool peacoat with the tips of her fingers. “We ready?” She asked the others “quick in and out and we’re done?”

Ororo sat in the box as she made small talk with those around her. Her smile flattered for just a moment as the leader of FOH came into the box. While she was not surprised that both sides had been invited, it was more of how close they were sitting. Her knuckles were white as she gripped the program. The exiting president caught her attention as she smiled. It was friendly chattered as she talked about home a little more. Her eyes would flutter to the man who would see her squashed. Her thoughts echoed to her friend, ["I have eyes on their leader. I will protect the president should harm befall him or this crowd."] ~*~*~
Pheinox heard the thoughts of her friends. It would seem that trouble was afoot here. She took in a deep breath as she floated closer to the street. She felt as if there were too many loose cannons on both sides for this rally to end well. Her eyes had a soft blue glow to them as her breathing was deep and steady. She knew that all it took would be a spark for violence of any kind to release the building tension. It would be a matter of which side stuck first. She hoped that the mutants stayed noble and honest. It would allow them to show who the true monsters were.
Her eyes grew wide as random thoughts of assassination floated into her mind. She floated back up once again. She probed the various minds however nothing popped again. She wondered if there was some sort of telepath among the crowd. Her gut tightened as she had a bad feeling about all of this. She flew up and down the march, sensing thoughts to catch another hint of who it could be.
["Be viligent! Someone is going to kill the president. I'm unsure as to who it was other than it is a potential telepath. They have blocked me for the moment. Remember we are here to keep the peace."] *~*~*~
Wanda was forced to be here. Her father gave orders that a message needed to be spread. She stayed rather close to Matt as she would help distract the crowds. She sighed as she checked her phone. She was hoping that Aaron had made it. She let him in on the plan as she wrestled with the morality of it all. The idea of killing in cold blood didn't sit well with her. She knew that other members of the group were okay with this fact. She never voiced her concern as her father would think of her as weak willed.
She sent him a text to see where he was at. She needed the comfort of someone with close ideals. She glanced as the X-Men were here as well. Gods this was going to end very badly for all of them. She ignored the shouts around her as she kept her attention on her breath, trying to stay calm.

Charles sighed and closed his eyes as he watched the mutant march on TV. He feared for the safety of his students but also knew they wanted to do this and hoped it would continue to be peaceful. Change needed to happen in order for humans and mutants to co-exist and perhaps this would help. He could only hope...

Gabriella went to the march and looked for the rest of the brotherhood at the rally. She wondered if Matt was there. Either way this was going to be a part of history, and she had the feeling her old "friends" the friends of humanity were going to show up considering...she hoped they wouldn't but she would be prepared for when they did. If Magneto held to his word life would better for those like her and her brother soon enough. Perhaps this would show other mutants that humans would never accept them. Perhaps Lawrence would see that here. She did not know.

Charis heard that spoke in her mind and wanted to freak out but kept her cool as she looked around more and more than before.
(in her mind) "Hey, that's what I plan to do Sister Pheonix! Don't you worry too much, we got this down here...I hope..."
Charis then moved a bit faster...calmly but faster looking for anything or anyone out of place.

Skye breathes in deeply before putting up her black mask and hood. Looking back, she nodded. It was time to go. All she needed was to get close enough to the President in order to get into his head and slaughter his brain chemistry. They were a mile away back in the courtyard.
*Stick to the shadows...* she mentioned softly. The girl was surprised that their fearless leader chose her to lead the operation. Maybe it was a right of passage? She was trying to get initiated as an acolyte...
————————————
Matt walked around various people shouting for mutant rights. Hd finished his beer within the brown paper bag and tossed it into the waste basket. Encountering a burp, he covered his mouth and walked along. Spotting a small blonde woman, he smirked. She wouldn’t be happy that he was buzzed, but he had a story to tell her. His father wasn’t his father. His mother was dead. His biological father knew about everything and kept it from him. Lies upon lies.
Clearing his throat, he tapped her on the shoulder “Hey...”

An assassination attempt on the President. Lovely. If that happens, the whole thing will boil over like a pot of hot oil on a flame. Vance looked around the crowd, wondering if someone would try something on all the people around the place. {Anybody see anything out of place on street-level?} his thoughts went back to Phoenix. {It would be nice if I could react in-time before any civilians got injured, but I can't only react to what I can see...}

Logon wasn't surprised to hear that special people had come and he just now noticed that Rhona had wandered off. That may not bode well for anyone who tried to mess with her. She didn't take kindly to people who were idiots. She had a very negative reaction to people doing things she considered wrong.
"Hey anyone have eyes on Rhona? I would hate for a MAGA hat wearer to stumble into her or one of the others to stumble into her. That could just be bad."
He was concerned but not really concerned as she had demonstrated in the Danger Room she was more than capable of taking care of herself against multiple targets, both armed and unarmed. She even ignored pain to cotinue the fight.
~*~
Jeff smiled politely at Maera as he listened to the radio chatter of his team. They were moving the young woman around to get her better view. That was nice and Dee had checked in. It seemed as if everything was going as it should be.
~*~
Rhona came back with the boxes of donuts and pushed the cup of coffee into Hope's hand. She looked at Jeff and frowned at him. He seemed familiar but she couldnt' place him. It was as if a memory was there but she couldn't grasp it. It bothered her but she stopped grabbing at the smoke and took a box of donuts to Vance.
"Here. Share them."
She smiled at Vance and then saw Logan. He was one of her favorites at the educational facility she was housed at in the United States. She brought him box of donuts and he took them.
"Please share them Instructor Logan."
She started back toward Hope and still Jeff was there. This guy was nice to Hope and nice to her but it mattered very little to her if he was nice to her. As long as he was nice to Hope. She came back with two boxes of donuts and gave one to Hope. She didn't wait as she put the coffee on the curb and started to eat he box of donuts. She loved glazed donuts and would eat a dozen as a snack.
"Donuts are so good!"
As she started on the last three she took out the packet that Dr. McCoy had developed and sprinkled the powder on them. It was a dietary supplement that was packed with calories and actually kept her from being hungry all the time. She scarfed the last three donuts and waited.
~*~
Aaron finally found a place to park his car and dumped as much change as he could in the meter. He hated leaving his car on the street but he was going to get Wanda out of this nightmare. He wasn't going to have her here when everything went south and they were looking for people to blame. He locked it up and then took out his phone. He dialed her number.
"Please answer...come on answer!"
He was walking toward the meeting point where they were supposed to meet. At least he hoped it was the meeting point.
