It has been 4 months since the fight, though he lived it like yesterday. The most he cried was the night his sister passed. Not a tear after that. He wasn’t sure if he just wasn’t a crier or if he had no emotion left from the last decade. Or maybe it was his anger…
He softness had faded; the muscles in his face had structure now. He was chiseled from head to toe; his form of therapy was grinding at the gym into the early morning hours. He still had the job from Tav via fixing cars. He could barely wash the grease off his fingers before hitting the mat.
Now? He’d been staring into the clouds whilst being tightly buckled into a trap begged by Gabriela and Jeff. Matt hated flying. He barely breathed as the plane descended onto Tokyo. An 18 hour flight with two layovers; one in Landstuhl Germany where he was born, and the other in some town in Malaysia. He missed Spätzle, so he wolfed some down before their departure. The egg noodles with meat sauce was all one ever needed in life.
A thud as the wheels collapsed onto the pavement is what woke him out of his daydream. Grasping the arms of the seat, his fingers clenched the faux leather fabric until the plane slowed to a stop. Closing his eyes, the man slowly gulped down the wad of saliva pooling under his tongue. He slowly looked to Jeff, who had two thumbs up in the air.
He needed to get off this plane.

Maera had slept on and off during the long trip to Tokyo. She felt a strange tension in the air the whole way there. It felt as if there was no moisture around her. She was used to feeling the water in the air. The flying was okay in short bursts though this long flight was taxing for her. She watched the others as her sister invited her to come with.
The last few months have been tense as she heard snips of conversation. One of the last missions ended with a large battle and a death of team member. Her heart sink a little bit as she knew her fair share of lost. It was something that was apart of her life from the very beginning. She kept it all to herself for the most part.
She was grateful when she heard the wheels on the pavement. It meant that they would be off the plane soon. She slowly packed up her things around her as she felt the plane shift around as it taxied to the gate. She sighed as she waited for her chance to stretch her legs.

Gabriella knew Matt hated flying. She also knew that this was a hard time for all of them. Skye had been like a sister to her. In fact in her grief her blackouts and nightmares were only getting worse and she didn't know what to do. After all Skye had become one of very few people Gabs had learned to trust. The list was very short. Lawrence, Matt, and she was starting to trust Jeff. The other brotherhood members she respected but she never fully bonded with. Not to mention Skye had earned every bit of that trust. But now Gabriella in spite of that made sure to be there for Matt as this would be especially hard on him. John as well...but for him there was nothing she could think to do. She respected him but they had never gotten close. Matt however...She would do anything for. They had become close friends over the time they had spent together. She couldn't tell him the depth of her feelings, especially now. He only spent his time at the Gym or with the cars in his grief. Even she had hardly seen him these last 4 months and it hurt. She knew he needed his space though. The time wasn't right at the moment though to say anything and she didn't want to give him the satisfaction for when he finally became his usual ladies man self again. But right that didn't matter. What mattered was trying to get him past the grief they both shared. Without words she calmly took his hand and squeezed it at the moments to support him as the plane landed in Tokyo. This was her first trip to Japan and she wanted to take this in. As the plane landed she finally spoke "We're...We're here. We made it." She said in reassurance for him that they were alright
