Logan had been through the wringer before but he wasn’t so sure Angie had been through similar experiences. He was not best pleased with the thought of negotiating with Emma Frost or the Hellfire Club. He was going to ensure that the Hellfire Club understood that regardless of what they wished he would make an example of whoever took Angie. His feelings for Angie, while still developing, were of a nature that her being taken spurred him to action. He didn’t tell Excalibur he was coming and while Charles had given him advice he did heed some of it. He had to laugh when he was greeted by Cate and Oliver. Cate tried diplomatic approach and he was polite enough but his answer was given politely. No. That prompted him to move to brush past them and move on about his day. Oliver took his answer and put a hand on his shoulder. Logan asked if Oliver liked his hand and at that point he made a good frienemy.
It didn’t take but a few days for Logan to find and kidnap the crazy and mute bitch that Emma used as a bodyguard. He was kind enough to feed her but did send Emma a nice video of her in the same clothing the day she disappeared and his request to release Angie or she would receive body parts of her bodyguard. This received no answer and his attempts to interrogate her brought no answers. He figured she was either tough or didn’t fear Logan. He would change that and decided that a finger was a good first message. He paid a street kid to deliver the finger. When he received no answer and noticed the finger was growing back he smiled. This wasn’t bad and she wouldn’t have any lasting scars.
It wasn’t until a week later a message was delivered, more of an invitation from Selene herself. She seemed to think she could bargain with him. He humored her and came to their club. Her offer was interesting and her way of presenting was less than pleasing. Logan’s counter offer was he wouldn’t kill all her minions if she released Angie and the others. This prompted Selene to laugh and Logan to leave. After he left Oliver caught up with him and demanded he release Daphne. Logan again said no and that if he wanted to make more demands he could help.
After several more days Logan was convinced to release Daphne, who promptly stabbed him. He laughed and watched as Oliver and Daphne left.
The unexpected happened and gave Logan and Excalibur the opening they needed to rescue their comrades. The bombing at Mutant March was all that was needed, mainly the chaos allowed him and Excalibur to extract the hostages and get them to safety.
He spent the next few months helping Angie and the others recover from their ordeal. It was during that time his feelings solidified for Angie. He found doing things with her relaxed him. He was nervous because when he expressed his feelings it seems that a black cloud come and take those he cared about. He got over it and told Angie how he felt. She actually expressed herself and how she wanted to take her time. He understood that and that would cause him to spend more time in the UK.

A gasp left Angie's throat as she sat straight up in her bed. Her heart was pounding in her chest as a hand came to rest on top of it. She closed her eyes as she slowed her heavy breathing. It had been a few months since she had a nightmare of this caliber. Between the therapy and the medications, things seemed to be going well. Her guess was all the stress that she had been under with getting back to her studies and work had brought forth some of the trauma she experienced.
Selene had allowed for basic necessities, but being locked in a darkened room and forced to use her power left some lasting damage. She had met a wonderful girl who was rescued as well. This girl was sent back to the X-men to receive the training that she needed. Angie checked in on the girl every so often as there was a bond created. As her heartbeat and breathing went back to normal, she ran a hand through her blonde hair. Her eyes glanced at the crack in the curtains. She saw bits of starlight as the predawn light peeked over the horizon. A sigh left her lips as her eyes glanced at the clock which read it was just shy of 5am. She scrubbed her face with the heel of her hands. Her lack of sleep was getting rather old as it had been happening since her capture.
A shudder ran down spine as thoughts about her captivity took hold in her mind. She closed her eyes as she forced those memories back under the surface. She used an old technique as she used to focus on the here and now. She looked around the room as she named five different things she saw, heard, smelled, and felt. She wasn't fully ready yet to talk about her experience in that horrible woman's mansion. She knew there would be a time but it still effected her quite a bit.
Another sigh left her lips as her feet touched the plush carpet. While she was exhausted, sleep was something that would elude her for the moment. She slowly walked to the bathroom attached to her room as she kept her mind focused on the feel of the carpet. It was all she could do to be mindful. Dark thoughts crept into the forefront of her mind as she turned on the water. Her eyes closed as she walked herself through the steps that were needed. The darkness was not going to win this battle. She often didn't let people see how much of an effect that it had on her.
The hot water ran over her as she stepped into the shower. She closed her eyes as she rolled her neck a little. It was then that the memories of the kidnapping flooded her mind. She remembered visiting the grave of her father when she was grabbed. She woke up in a dark room, tied to a chair. She could hear breathing close by as she called out who was there. A weak young voice answered her back. She learned that it was a young woman who had been there for some time. They swapped stories of their capture. Angie learned that the young woman could see parts of the future. She figured out why the bitch grabbed Corinna because of her mutant powers. They were each taken out of the room at random times. Angie was forced to heal the woman as her power kept the woman alive. It was twice daily sessions. At first, Angie refused however the threats against the girl caused her to change her mind quickly. She didn't know how much time had passed. They were fed meals and allowed to use the bathroom at certain intervals. She got to know the girl as she feared no one had noticed that she had been missing. She tired to escape once which ended in both of them being beaten into submission and inches of her life.
When all hope of rescue had died as time marched on. She felt that she would eventually die tied to the chair. It was until she heard sounds of fighting outside of their room. The animal growl caused her to pause when she heard metal slice through the door. Light flooded the room when Logan and a couple of others had come for them. He released her and Corinna as she rubbed her wrists. She insisted that he carry the other girl as she would be okay. In true fashion, one of the others got Corinna and he carried her outside of the mansion and back home. She was given a clean bill of health after a few days. What made her smile was the fact that Logan had never left her side after finding her.
The warmth turned cool as she was pushed out of the memories. She took in a deep breath as she swallowed hard. She pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind as she hurried to finish her shower. She felt slightly more awake as she stepped out and got dressed. She looked as dawn was fast approaching. She dressed casually as she headed downstairs to the kitchen. It was too early for any sort of activity other than reading the newspaper and having some coffee.
She padded quietly down the stairs as she did just that. She quietly turned on the coffee maker as she grabbed the paper from the front door. She walked softly as she opened up the news and fixed her coffee just the way she liked it. She settled in as she took a sip, waking up even more. It was the distraction that her minded needed to stop the darkness from flooding again.
The bitter sweet smell filled her nose as her eyes caught the piano as a smile filled her face. Recently, she and Logan had sat on the bench together. It was something he had started doing since she had come home. There was one day as she finished up the set that he turned to her and confessed how deeply he cared for her. Her feelings ran deep though it was hard to sort everything in her head. In a recent sessions with her therapist, she realized that her feelings ran deeper then she originally thought. Maybe today was going to be the day she told him

Logan had spent his days with Angie and now that she seemed to be in a better place and they both had told each other how they felt he was sticking around. He liked that Oliver and him could mix it up and really get down to a good fight. That was fun. The fact that Angie could play the piano impressed him. He always like the sound of classical music and she had those skills.
He just happened be awake and off to kitchen when he caught sight of Angie in the kitchen and the smell of coffee. He didn't know if coffee was always good for jogging memories but it was good for just about for everything else. He remembered the days of snake oil salesmen and their cure alls. They should have been peddling coffee in his opinion.
"Morning Angie, you sleep ok?"

A smile lit up Angie's face as Logan came into the kitchen. She took a sip of her coffee as she watched the man from the corner of her eye. There was something that caught her eye when she first met him. Regardless, if felt nice that their feelings were out in the open. She could tell that it came as a surprise for him.
"Good morning, Logan. And sleep was... a bit difficult. I think the stress caused a bit of a nightmare. How was your sleep?"
The warmth of the next sip filled her belly as bits of her sleepiness faded away. She cocked her head for a moment as she drummed her nails on the counter. She took in a deep breath as she prepared for the next question.
"I was wondering if you wanted to grab a bite to eat after my classes today? It doesn't have to be anything very fancy."

Logan smiled at Angie’s greeting and it didn’t falter any at her informing him of bad dreams. He could understand that considering what she had been through in the last several months. He after all had had always considered that he was different and had his share of ugliness but didn’t dwell on it. She was different and didn’t ask for any of it. He did step a little closer to get a coffee cup and then realized he was in Angie’s personal space a bit and stopped.
“I get the nightmare. It’s not normal to be taken and have your life threatened by others. If I were Hank McCoy I’d say it’s normal but ain’t nothing normal about what happened to you.”
He took her hand a gave it a reassuring squeeze. He smiled at her and released her hand to reach for a cup to get himself some coffee. Her asking if he’d like to do lunch caused his smile to broaden.
“I’d like that. We can do whatever you’re comfortable with. Anytime spent with you is good to me.”

Angie took another sip of the warm liquid as the sweetness coated her throat. She watched Logan from the corner of her eye. It was interesting to see him be aware of where he was in relation to her. He was one of the few that were always welcomed in her personal space. Her eyes half closed as his musk filled her nostrils. She was glad it was just the two of them for now.
"It was rather scary. I hated how I was forced to feed that woman life energy. The only good things that came out of it were rescuing the poor girl and us growing closer." She paused for a moment before she continued on. The callused hand encircled hers as a feeling of peace over came her. "It's taken awhile but I am feeling more like myself these days."
Her own smile brightened as she watched him pour some coffee. It was nice to have these private moments with him. She would often have them as often as they could. What truly had surprised her was the willingness to stay by her side as she recovered. She had insisted that he go join his team but he refused every time.
She gently put down her mug as she swung her arms around his neck. Her thin body pressed against his muscular one. She gave a gentle squeeze before kissing his cheek gently. "Thank you, Logan."
She released his neck though didn't step backwards. "I feel the same with you as I enjoy our time together. How about picking me up around 1pm at our usual spot? There is a little cafe a few streets over we could try? Or there is always the picnic option? Either option sounds good to me."

Logan was surprised she shared what she did and he agreed that rescuing the young girl was good as well but at the time he was unaware of her being held along with Angie. He smiled at her.
“We did get her out of there as well. I was glad you were unharmed. Relieved actually because I don’t think the club would have survived my rage.”
Her saying she was feeling a bit normal was good to hear but then again he didn’t really know what normal was these day. Angie made him feel normal the feeling of her warmth and kiss was part of that normal feeling.
“Usually spot 1 PM. I can do that. I saw this cafe that made me think of World War 2 and well thought we might go see what they had to offer. Although I’m always good for a picnic. You know what I’ll surprise you.”
He wanted to picnic as nature was nice. So he would have to prepare a nice lunch. He wasn’t so bad at that. He would go ahead and see if she had any preferences for lunch.
“What would you like in a picnic lunch?”

Logan's rage was something that Angie had witnessed first hand. She remembered the look on his face was he entered into the room. In fact, it was the only time that she had truly been scared of him. She was happy that he was fought next to her and not against her.
She took a few steps back as her hand encircled the handle of the mug. The caramel color gave a sweetened taste as she took a sip. The sleepiness finally faded as she contemplated his offer to make a basket. It was unexpected and sweet.
She studied his face as she contemplated the question. "I think something simple, maybe a sandwiches. It's the only thing that I could think of this early in the morning. I do trust your judgement with things." She sucked on lip before she asked, "Do you have any preferences for the picnic? Though why do I get the feeling that you are going to surprise me with where we are going?"
She gave a small shrug as she glanced at the time. She let a sigh escape from her lips as she noticed the time. She drained the last little bit of her coffee before setting her cup in the dishwasher. "I will see you at 1pm. Try not to be too late." She gave him a wink as she giggled a little.
She dashed out of the kitchen, in hopes of not being late to one of her final classes. Her trip to her room then to the front door was rather quick. She filled her water bottle before going to the lab class. At the end, she had something to look forward to.

Logan gave a small smile at her agreeing tot the picnic and allowing him to make the basket. She had been a bit shaken up after her release and he had given her space. He could understand it.
“Simple it is and sandwiches for sure. They are easy to pack and you can make different ones.”
He was actually enjoying the simplicity just being here. Angie was the main reason for his presence and her being safe was now a reality. He was now enjoying something simple and the life he wanted was just this.
“I’ll see you at 1 PM, let’s meet by the back door and we can choose to go from there to whatever spot on the grounds you want. You would know them better than me.”
He chuckled as he watched her dash off.
