Relina had been at odds with what her parents wanted and what had occurred at the inauguration of the president. Her parents were supporting terrorist. She knew this and from what had transpired she was trying to sort out her association with the Brotherhood of Mutants. She didn’t see a reason to return to the house, but she had friends there and she wanted to return. Skye, John, Fred, and even Victor and the rest were nice people. She didn’t feel she had to pretend with them. It wasn’t until after Christmas and Skye disappearing that all this came to a head for her. She had her own job and made her own salary. She was comfortable and had been looking at job offers with a British company to design future aerospace applications for them. It was she just didn’t want to leave the US. She also had to consider Fred’s feelings. He had captured her with his charm and gentleness that not many used. People looked at the outside and not the inside. If you looked at her most guys were dazzled by her exterior and didn’t care she was in aerospace design. They saw a trophy.
She had to know as well if Skye had made it back from whatever she had happen after the New Year. When she inquired it appeared she was gone as well. She feared the worst but it wasn’t until Wanda had confirmed it and taken her leave of the house that she felt alone. She leaned into her work and started to invite Fred over more and more to stay and have dinners with her. She also extended that invitation to all members of the BoM and some accepted the offer. She was happy to have them and it filled her loft with sounds of laughter and joy. It wasn’t until an idea struck her. Skye had died and Wanda confirmed it. Skye was a good and dear friend. She deserved more than just a she died and we move on. So she went to work. She got with Gambit and rented out the bar for a day. It took a bit of doing but Gambit was on board and it only cost her $7,000 for the day for the bar to host a private party. She didn’t care about the expense. They were honoring a friend. She had so many things to do and catering it was the biggest part. While yes standard bar fare was nice she didn’t want even Gambit or his staff to have to lift a finger or pour a drink. They would be invited and she would have event staff for this.
The preparations were taking a good part of her time and every night when she came home she would call Fred to have him come over for dinner. He was such a good boyfriend. He came over and always brought a bottle of wine. She appreciated that of him. She was always cooking when he road the elevator up. It was one of these a week before the memorial she had planned that she decided to ask him to move in. They had been dating now for close to year and she wanted him with her. Yes it was a selfish need but she felt that was ok.
She was nervous about Fred’s answer as he may just say no. She hoped he wouldn’t but his feelings and privacy were paramount and she had additional rooms where he could store his belongings or set up the proverbial man cave if he wanted to do that as well. She was truly taken by him and wanted him with her full time. She was responding to emails to finishing confirming the memorial and catering for both her place and the bar. She was tired and that coupled with her regular work made for a very full day.
