The FBI was disturbed by the scene they had come upon. It was an extremist group they had been monitoring but all they had was their training with no action to be taken against anyone. The fact that they now had a destroyed training facility. It was a disturbing scene.
The facility had been under UAV surveillance for months and they had seen from their watch that people came and went from it. It was during the lapse in coverage that this had happened, which was only two hours. When the coverage came back up the training camp was on fire and destroyed.
When they actually got people out to the site it was a mess. The casualties were that no lived. It was as if a surgical strike had happened and that the goal was the total destruction of the training camp. It was scary because in two hours the camp had been destroyed.
They sent in all manner of CSI and other investigators. They coordinated with local and state authorities and still with all that coordination there was not anyone who was new to the area or seen coming or going. It was eerie to think that this had only happened in the two hours they had a gap in coverage.
The satellite feed were checked and only showed the infrared spikes and that it was an attack by an unknown force. The force was efficient and brutal leaving all dead and all buildings burning. It was the fires that had alerted the local authorities which then prompted the call the the FBI.
This mess would take weeks to investigate and find the true suspects who had done this. While most would look at this as a boon the FBI and other federal authorities was now checking with groups who would have targeted this camp. The scariest thing was any mutants who may have done this all had alibis and that other groups, human, weren't in this area during this attack.
That bothered all law enforcement. An unknown group landed, attacked, and left without leaving a trace. It was something that as of now they were classifying as an isolated incident.
The investigation units were only turning up the expended rounds of the people in the camp. They weren't find any other rounds from areas where attacks could have come from. The scene was perplexing and maddening. The fact that the attackers were ghosts is what caused alarm with them. They didn't even know where start with these ghosts.
