A Day of Unexpected
Hello to all of my dedicated readers. It has been a few days since last I posted. I have been fairly busy with finishing a piece I want to do put into a small gallery show along with a few commissions as well as work. As most of you are aware, I have been working on perfecting my technique with oils, mostly, as well as some acrylic with tempera (an egg yoke based paint) and ink. I am also trying to branch out into the different mediums. I want to see if I can use wax and watercolor for a different contrast. I think that will be what I adventure to next. If anything, it helps relieve some of the pressure I am under from those around me.
Speaking of work, as most of you know I work at a local art shop. It helps with the cost of my supplies. The costumers have been overly painful, lately. It seems as if everyone has been trying to get into art, lately. My advice usually falls on deaf ears which annoys the bloody hell out of me. I despise people who act like they know way more than I do. There are very few that have some redeeming qualities to them. They are nice as we have good long conversations about various techniques. I am often thankful that I only work there a couple of days a week. I have picked up a few more hours lately as my commission work has not been as lucrative lately. As long as I get to create, I suppose that it all that matters.
I must say that I am pleased with the two gallery show pieces that I have. It will happen in a couple of weeks which allows me time to see if I want to add a third or change things around. Cross your fingers that I can get a little more business from this or at least my name out there. It would eventually be nice to get into some of the bigger galleries.
So most of you must be wondering what else I have been doing besides artwork. I must say that I had an overly interesting afternoon. The irritant twins stopped by this afternoon. It was a request from my twin brother that they check the place out. It was rather convenient of him to not be around. Unless they had planned it that way. With them, who knows?
Before I continue on, I know that I have a few new followers who will be interested in learning about who these characters are. It has been a little while since last I mentioned them. They have not been around as often which oddly made me a little sad. Instead of going back to find out who they are, I will give a brief summary of how I met them.
As some of you know, My brother and I are part of a group of misfits that live in a house that my father has purchased for us. It is a little run down however it is home. He decided to take me out for a little bonding time on the night we met those two. Some how I feel our mostly absent father put him up to it with how much money he was willing to spend. On a side note, I am fine with how close my brother and I are. It works for me, which is all that matters.
We had just finished walking down a back street after grabbing some ice cream. My twin pushed me to the side when he heard voices talking. He had me hold his cone as he raced ahead to see what was happening. I could hear him talking with the two of them. My interest was slightly aroused as I heard my name. I walked up to see who he was talking to. I handed the ice cream back to my brother as I was quickly introduced. We had spent most if the night with them riding around town as they showed off some unique skills with cars. It took awhile before I understood why my brother was trying to befriend them. They had abilities that would be useful in our misfit band. Honestly, I could take or leave them, at that point in time. Now, I have almost gotten used to their antics, though this afternoon the others seemed impressed. My gut tells me that they are going to showing up a lot more often, especially Werd. Ron just always seems to be dragged along. I kinda understand that feeling more than I will ever let on.
As for this afternoon, I shuddered when I saw them as I could only guess what it meant. Ron, as usual, seemed to be in a hurry as Werd wanted to stay and chat. My stomach turned as he started to hit on Esa. It was made worse by Ensky. He would not be so bad if he just got the hint that there is no way we would ever be together even if he was the last person on earth! He has been doing this for years and I wish he would just stop! Friends, at most is all I have ever wanted from him. You would think that he would have gotten the hint by now.
I digress which yes I know usually happens with Ensky. We decided to go out for ice cream which was okay with the slight exception of Ensky coming along. I often wish that Werd was not so friendly with everyone he met. It gets under my skin at times. It is interesting that I seem to be off limits to him. The man wants a turn at anything and everything that moves with two legs it would seem. Needless to say that any more work for the gallery was put on hold as I do have a small sweet tooth. Plus I have a weakness for a good latte.

My brother would drag me along as we hung out with them, getting to know them as well as helping at times with their extracurricular activities. I found that they are more trouble than they were wroth. Dearest brother enjoyed the adrenaline rush that they offered since most of it was on the wrong side of the law. I was stuck as my brother picked up a few skills as my words of caution went on to deaf ears. There are more details if you are curious, just ask in the comments and I can point you where to look.

I will admit to the afternoon going by a little faster that I would have thought. Everyone almost seemed to mesh with each other. It was a little weird but whatever. I just went along with what they had planned. I tried getting out of going to a local fight and bar, just no good excuse came up or the time. The fight was interesting to say the least. I watched the crowd more than people beating each other for sport. I would never have guessed how many people really got into it. I figured the bar would be another great place to watch as well. Damn it was crowded after the fight. The band was good. If you ever get a chance, go see Haliwel. They are pretty good with fun covers of punk rock bands like Hailstorm. They have a couple of originals too.
There was a bit of a turn of events during the evening. I was totally about ready to call it a night and grab some coffee. An afternoon and evening of being social had me drained. An old friend of my father's came up asking for my help. I didn't get too much of a choice there. He had me go to the store room and revealed that someone sent a bomb! There are some real haters out there! People just need to chill. There are much better ways to express your opinion which does not end in people possibly losing their lives.
It was an out of body experience, like I was watching someone else do it. The bartender and I traveled quickly to a place where few people would be effected should things go sideways. It was cold up there. I was numb anyways, my fingers really didn't want to move. I ended up summoning all of my power. I had to hurry as time was almost out. The bartender tried to give some words of encouragement, though I am not sure that I would call it that. We were easily both on edge with a single wrong move and it would be lights out. No time to spare, I was thrown into the sky as I threw the bomb. It was an interesting sensation being in complete free fall. I felt the explosion as it rocked me back to the surface. Not to worry, I landed with a little bruising.
I parted ways with the bartender. Let me tell you, it took a lot of coffee to finally calm me down. It is an experience that I would rather not repeat in the near future. Or ever if I can help it. Anyways, I will catch you guys one the after the next spell raising adventure. I look forward to reading your comments, o faithful followers.
